Scar Of Life 2022 - the 10th edition of the annual fundraising gala successfully raised 541,551 USD, providing life-saving heart surgeries for 451 children with congenital heart disease. The event marked the return of the program after a two-year interruption caused by the pandemic, at a time when the number of children awaiting surgery continued to grow and the need for support had become more urgent than ever.
As a creative and production partner, Dream Studio developed the concept “Heart Heroes”, honoring Scar Of Life’s decade-long mission of bringing hope and a second chance at life to thousands of children with congenital heart disease. Through a series of meaningful activities, the program helped raise awareness of congenital heart conditions while encouraging compassion, community engagement, and collective action to build a healthier and brighter future for these children.
The fundraising gala featured emotional performances alongside dynamic charity auction sessions. A documentary film reflecting on Scar Of Life’s ten-year journey, together with inspiring stories of the children and their extraordinary resilience, created a heartfelt atmosphere throughout the evening. Beyond witnessing the project’s 10-year impact and achievements, guests had the opportunity to meet Nguyen Hai Dang, the very first child to receive a free heart surgery through the program, who has now grown into a healthy 21-year-old young man. His duet performance of “Người Gieo Mầm Xanh” with singer Ha Tran left a lasting emotional impression on everyone present.
The event also received remarkable support from philanthropists and donors through charity auctions and direct contributions. One of the highlights was a souvenir notebook featuring photographs and signatures from nine cast members of The Old Guard 2, including project founder Ngo Thanh Van, which successfully raised 60,000 USD for the children. Numerous valuable items, including Buddhist sculptures, artworks, luxury watches, diamond rings, and gold-plated feng shui screens, were also donated for fundraising purposes. The highest bid of the evening reached 100,000 USD for a gold-plated Medicine Buddha crystal sculpture donated by designer Thuy Nguyen.
