WECHOICE AWARDS 2024

WeChoice Awards 2024 was more than an annual awards ceremony; it was a journey celebrating the people, stories, and positive values that left a meaningful impact on the community. Together with VCCorp, Dream Studio sought to create a space where audiences could reflect on a year marked by change through empathy, gratitude, and faith in the power of goodness. In doing so, WeChoice 2024 honored the stories that illuminated the spirit of Vietnam.

This vision was brought to life through a distinctive creative approach. Rather than relying on a conventional stage format, Dream Studio developed the NO STAGE concept - an open environment where the boundaries between stage, performers, and audience were intentionally dissolved. Every production element was designed to place emotion and storytelling at the heart of the Gala.

Throughout four months of preparation, Dream Studio and VCCorp closely studied the defining social events and narratives of 2024. These stories were then translated into a language of conceptual art, shaping an awards ceremony rich in humanity and emotional depth.

The evening opened with the performance “WE LOVE”, set within an environment filled with installation artworks symbolizing everyday heroes and acts of kindness across society. Displayed on the LED screens were authentic personal messages, including final words sent to loved ones. Together, these emotional fragments introduced the central theme of WeChoice 2024: love, sacrifice, and compassion.

One of the most moving moments of the Gala centered on the stories of two mothers: Can Thi Ngan, mother of Mr. Trinh Dinh Vang, and Nguyen Tran Thuy Duong, mother of Hai An. In the face of unimaginable loss, both made the courageous decision to donate their children’s organs to give others a chance at life. Accompanied by a piano rendition of "Mẹ Yêu Con", excerpts from Hai An’s diary and memories of Mr. Trinh Dinh Vang were woven together into a dialogue that transcended the boundaries of life and memory, creating one of the evening’s most emotionally powerful highlights.

The theme of artistic legacy and generational continuity was explored through the performance “Trần Gia Nhã Nhạc”. The piece brought together members of a remarkable artistic family, including musician Tran Tien, diva Ha Tran, music producer Tran Thanh Phuong, and singer Marzuz. Their story of musical inheritance was expressed through contemporary stage language, highlighted by a striking large‑scale installation of an overturned car, recreating imagery from Marzuz’s music video “Ảo ảnh” directly within the performance space. 

From a technical perspective, WeChoice Awards 2024 featured an ambitious visual system comprising three large-scale LED screens, including a suspended LED screen positioned parallel to the floor to create a heightened sense of visual compression and audience immersion. With a total LED area of nearly 800 square meters, the production delivered a multidimensional performance environment that expanded storytelling possibilities and created a powerful visual experience.

Despite operating within an optimized budget framework, Dream Studio and its partners successfully delivered a Gala of a scale and quality comparable to major live productions in the market. Yet the true value of WeChoice Awards 2024 extended far beyond technology or production scale. For Dream Studio, this project represented a meaningful social initiative, an opportunity to honor ordinary people accomplishing extraordinary things while spreading positive human values throughout the community.
