ABOUT

For Dream Studio, Thank You Saigon is more than just a fashion show; it is a tribute to the city that nurtured designer Cong Tri’s creative journey. Dream Studio developed the program as a visual experience where fashion, space, and memories of Saigon blend into a unified language of expression.

Held in the ballroom of the Park Hyatt hotel—a space not typically designed for fashion shows—the project presented a unique challenge for stage design. Dream Studio opted for a minimalist yet conceptual approach, focusing on creating a space with a distinct identity rather than relying on costly staging solutions.

The highlight of the show was the catwalk, entirely woven from silk and directly inspired by the double-weave technique featured in the collection. A large-scale tempered glass surface covered the silk, protecting the delicate structure while creating a unique visual effect that served as a backdrop to enhance the beauty and spirit of the collection. Rather than just a path for models, the runway became an extension of the design language itself, ensuring that fashion and space were no longer separate, but complemented each other as a cohesive whole.

The entire visual identity was built from iconic details of Saigon, combined with patterns and visual textures derived from the collection itself. Set to an electronic soundtrack blended with street vendor calls, urban ambient sounds, and the rhythmic pulse of the city, the audience was led into a Saigon that felt both familiar and fresh—a place where memories were told through fashion rather than words.

For Dream Studio, Thank You Saigon is proof that the value of a show is not determined by the scale of investment, but by the power of the idea. This project also laid the foundation for a long-term collaboration between Dream Studio and designer Cong Tri, and was recognized by industry experts as one of the most successful fashion shows of 2013 due to its seamless integration of fashion, art, and stage experience.
