At the time of its launch, Cocofest 2018 stood on par with leading regional and global music festivals in terms of organization and production scale and equipment quantity, making it the largest outdoor music event in Vietnam. Not only positioned as a performance program, the project was developed as a multi-layered music experience complex, where the stage, performance technology, technical infrastructure system, and audience emotions were designed as a unified whole.
The outstanding highlight of the project was the stage system reaching nearly 30 meters high, equivalent to a 12-story building, built as the visual center of the entire festival. To realize the project, Dream Studio and partners mobilized a particularly large technical resource: hundreds of tons of equipment, 1,000 technical and effect lights, over 2,000 square meters of LED and LED Matrix, a large capacity power generation system, and miles of signal distribution lines. The entire construction process lasted continuously for 15 days with the participation of about 600 personnel from the technical, production, and operation departments.
One of the pioneering elements of Cocofest lay in applying a 1:1 technical backup model for important systems with international standards. This was the first time an entertainment event in Vietnam was operated with a backup level equivalent to international music festivals, aiming to ensure absolute stability and safety for the entire program.
Matching the production scale was the appearance of two international superstars Nicole Scherzinger and Luis Fonsi with the hit Despacito, along with top-tier domestic artists such as Noo Phuoc Thinh, Dong Nhi, Bich Phuong, Vu Cat Tuong, Isaac, Min, Soobin Hoang Son, SpaceSpeakers, SlimV and Nimbia, Da Lab, Den Vau, Ngot Band. The two performance nights of Cocofest attracted tens of thousands of spectators, turning the festival space into a large-scale pop culture rendezvous, while simultaneously opening new milestones regarding the ability to organize international music events in Vietnam.
For Dream Studio, Cocofest was not just a music festival. It was an important milestone in the journey to expand the limits of the Vietnamese entertainment industry, where creative capacity, production management, and technical standards were challenged on an unprecedented scale. Through Cocofest, Dream Studio continued to pursue the goal of creating pop culture experiences capable of connecting the community, raising industry standards, and contributing to making Vietnam a destination for international-scale entertainment events.
