VỀ DỰ ÁN

“Tranh thờ người Dao” (Dao Worship Paintings) is a profound cultural project initiated by the Dongson Today Foundation, accompanied by a parallel exhibition hosted at the Shinhan Bank lobby. This exhibition was strategically scheduled to coincide with composer Quoc Trung's “Đường Xa Vạn Dặm” (The Road to Infinity) Live Concert in Tokyo.

The publication is the culmination of a rigorous process of curation, research, and meticulous production, brought to life through the collaborative efforts of numerous painters, artists, and project contributors. Crucially, the patronage of the Dongson Today Foundation, alongside the invaluable companionship of Dr. Frederick Harris, empowered the team to execute the project with profound academic rigor and impressive scale. This collaborative synergy successfully brought the Dao people's folk art heritage closer to the broader public.

Transcending the boundaries of a conventional academic study, the book pioneered a novel approach to fine art publishing in Vietnam at the time. The work was meticulously crafted as a limited-edition art publication - a space where archival, academic, and aesthetic values seamlessly intersect.

Consequently, the book serves not only as a comprehensive resource for the study of Dao worship paintings but also stands as a highly coveted collectible. It has secured a definitive place in the libraries of readers who are deeply passionate about fine arts, culture, and heritage preservation.
